I installed a DRO on my Grizzly G1007 (RF-30 clone), which already had a power feed. My main concern with the X axis was to prevent the scale from interfering with the power feed stops. The attached photos show how I did it. The scales are iGaging capacitive type scales, connected to a Shumatech display unit (visible in the first photo).

I recently bought an older Grizzly G1007/RF-30 mill, including an Align AL-99 power feed. The brushes on the power feed motor are worn down to where they won't make contact with the commutator any more. I've tried to get replacement brushes from Bestline Products and from Gromax, both vendors for Align power feeds.

The G1007 has been discontinued, but it is essentially the same as many other mills based on the same Chinese design. The JET JMD-15 is one of them that is still available. I have the JET and it is OK for most gunsmithing tasks, like pinning lugs or punching out scope base holes, etc.

No biggie. 2. The spindle down feed is calibrated in inches but actually moves exactly 2.5 mm per revolution of the handwheel, not 1/10 inch as advertised. That means it's short by 0.016 inch per inch. I suspect it was designed as a metric machine and they just replaces the calibrated ring fut not the inside gears.
